I enjoy seeing threads like this. I especially enjoy watching guitars being built from scratch- very cool!

The finish options that first come to my mind with V's are bursts- cherry sunburst, sunset burst, honey burst, etc...

Very nice, Anthony! It looks like you cut the fret slots all by yourself, correct? Do you also have a fret pressing tool? What type of frets will you be using? What's the painter going to do with it? I hope you aren't covering up that awesome grain with an opaque finish.

First thing. Pull all the tubes (power and pre amp) and replace the fuse. If it doesn't blow again, it could be just a bad tube.

IIRC, there is a fuse on the rear panel, and also on the PC boards.

I have an XT-112 and was playing my guitar when suddenly it lost power. No light or sound. The outlets work. Is there a fuse on these and if so where? Thank you for any help. OK, I found the fuse, I know.., anyway I replaced it but the fuse blew again right away. I now know I have more serious issues so I think its off to the shop.

I did show her off during a break to some guitar buddies who were there that night. They had never seen a Carvin guitar up close. They were AMAZED! And they all thought Blue was gorgeous.

yeah you can do that but It doesnt look right to me. I would then have to flip the ring on the neck pickup to get them to match and regardless I just decided to keep the C22B.

"Blue" was there, on stage behind the PA speakers. However, the old Les Paul was sounding so good through the Nomad that night, that I just stayed with the LP. Why mess with something that is working? Next time it might be Blue over the LP.

The last one was in November 2009. "T-Bone BBQ" organized and hosted an annual Texas Bash for several years, but the 2009 Bash was the last. As I recall we had Carvin players and fans from Oklahoma, Louisiana and all over Texas -- including San Antonio -- at the last Bash.

I've since moved from Texas to New England, so it would be a stretch for me to attend another one. However, all it would take is someone to be willing to step up to the plate and organize one. As long as folks wait for "someone else" to do all the work in setting something this up, it will never happen. Round Rock is close to SA, Austin, Waco, and not out of reach for the Dallas-Ft. Worth folks. Maybe the next one could be down your way.
