After playing for several years, I'm finally figuring out how ohms work with bass amps and cabinets. I'm the original owner of an old (early 90s?) but clean (apart from a spot on the side of the cabinet where my cat used it as a scratching post, but with all the original knobs and eq slider tips) and fully functioning Bass Pro 300 combo that was listed as a 300 watt amp. However, investigating the specs in my older and wiser years, I'm finding that while the amp is only rated at 300 watts at 2 ohms, the included speaker (12" with tweeter) is rated at 400 watts handling at 8 ohms. Does this mean that my amp is actually only putting out 150 watts with this configuration?

I don't have an answer to your question, but I have the same PB300C. Mine is from 1991 which was the first year they built them. Do you happen to have the manual? If so, could you scan it and email it to me? frenchwv@hotmail.com.

As it turns out, I have the manual, I just haven't added it to the site yet. You can download it here:
