So, I finally had my first practice today, but guess who didn't show up? Yep, my drummer. His excuse was that he got called into work at the last minute. I told him he should have told them no, or at least call me so I could cancel with the practice place before I got there. He said I was being selfish, that I was thinking about myself because he needs the money? I spent money renting the practice space, and could have canceled if he just called, but he didn't!

He now tells me he didn't want to do my music, and he was trying to be nice. I would have rather that fat a$$ to have told me he wasn't interested and choose somebody else and not have wasted the other band members and my time.

So, this didn't work out, I'm going to join a band with my old bandmate from Chronic Soul, he's starting a second band for the fun of it. The best part is the bass player from the other band isn't in this band!! Very Happy

My point is, unless your absolutely sure, don't waste your time with drummers! I spent my own money, it wasn't much, but still all I had for the rest of the week to rent the practice space....

I don't think that drummers are the problem...just people in general.

Yes, but they don't do well adding fills and etc..

Well the guitarist wasn't great either, he was good, but too much of a metal head for my liking.

Couldn't resist posting this quote from Walden:

"If a man does not keep pace with his companions, perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer."
--Henry David Thoreau
