My band and I are going into the studio to start recording our first CD starting tomorrow. I'm both excited and nervous about it all. I'm anxious to get it done, but don't want to rush it and not be happy with the end result.

It's definitely going to be a new experience for all of us. I'll be sure to post some pics and stuff tomorrow evening on our Facebook page after I get back home.

Yesterday was a great day. It started out a little rough with all of us getting used to recording in the studio to click tracks to keep us all on time, but after a while we started getting the hang of it and were able to get the rhythm tracks for 8 songs down in about 4 1/2 to 5 hours of total recording time.

We are going back next Saturday to work on the rhythm tracks for the rest of the songs, then start working on putting the vocals down on all the songs and do the lead guitar and other stuff last.

It's so amazing to start to realize that a dream I've had for over 10 years is finally coming true. God is so good...

There's actually a guy in Alvord that has a nice little studio. I had absolutely no idea until someone from church told me about it.

You will also be amazed at how cool your stuff sounds when it is well mixed. You can actually hear all the parts. LOL

I love doing studio work, but I think those days are really gone for good. Now I just enjoy playing in my closet. Ha... I have turned into a closet musician. Sad

Well done, T-bone. Can't wait for the finished product.

Just hearing some of the quick play backs last Saturday was cool. When you're playing live you don't get to hear how it all sounds together which is why I love to video tape us when we play so that I can hear how we sound and try to pick up on some things to help make us better.

It's really cool hearing everything in the studio even without a "proper" mix just so that you can hear how everything sounds...awesome stuff. Mr. Green

Well tomorrow starts day two of the recording of our first CD. Bass player can't be there until the afternoon, so I'm going to go ahead and start working on getting the vocals down for the 8 songs we already have the rhythm tracks for. If I get that done we'll start working on other things that need to be done like putting some lead guitar tracks down. Going to be another productive day...

Still seems very surreal at times that I'm actually working on recording a CD. Something I've been dreaming and praying about for years that's finally coming true. I feel so blessed... Mr. Green

And rightly you should. I still listen to stuff I have recorded both with bands and solo. It is fun to hear yourself playing in a well mixed environment. Enjoy it while it lasts. Savor the moment. Carpe diem, my friend.
