1950's tripleneck steel guitar value???? Through extensive research this guitar was possibly one of Carvin's first 8 string steel. Carvin model# 59. All orginalpegs and strings. Been in storage for over 30 years in orginal case. Very heavy . When taken To guitar shop, no infoavailable but checked it. Works when hooked up to amplifier. Since of the original condition did not get anything replaced until an appraisal has been done. Ivory pegs are weathered because of age, crumble at a turn. Only 1 string is broke. Has a stand for it as well. Pls respond with any info available. Value? Does it need be in Carvin museum? i
Will get original pics uploaded shortly.

Could you upload some pics of it? It's hard to say what the value of some of the older Carvin products are because of many reasons.

One, they're not very common because they don't show up on the used market very often.

This of course does not mean the instrument is worth as much as other vintage items from the time period. Because it is a Carvin and not something like a Fender or Gibson it won't fetch the same prices as a Fender or Gibson. While they are rare, the average price on used Carvin products from those days is fairly low compared to other companies. Every once in a while you'll see someone try to charge the same amount as a Gibson or more expensive vintage product and the item will stay unsold whereas lower priced items disappear right away.

The condition of the instrument affects the value as well. Were you thinking of selling it?
