I posted this at the Kiesel/Carvin bbs, but the Museum forums are way too lonely these days, and I need to talk about my incoming bass to make it through the 10 week wait.

Mike Jones walked me through my order, which is an AB4 with SCP and KRJ pickups. I really wrestled with whether to get a possibly nioisy single coil, but decided that it's still a very popular configuration on PJ basses (There must be a reason for that). And if it doesn't work out, I'll some day swap it for a KRH.

Other options I chose:

5 pc maple with walnut neck
maple fingerboard
trans Nightburst finish
2 volumes replaces blend (waffled on this one for a long time too).
bevel delete

I wanted to get the inline headstock vs the default Xccellerator, but was told that would cancel the 10 day trial. So I skipped it.

Also, I had to call Mike right back because I forgot to tell him this was to be a lefty model. Scary!!

It has been 18 years since I bought my LB70, which I still own and play every week. This AB4 will be the opposite of that one in many ways.

Really looking forward to this bass. Just over a week has passed since I ordered. I told myself I wouldn't "count the days", but .... can't help it.
