My 1984 LB 40 has a SPDT switch for dual-single coil split that I don't use. I was thinking I might use it to switch between the stock .047 mf cap and another cap value. Just curious to know if anyone has done this.

I have done that, with a guitar rather than a bass though. I did it on a FrankenCarvin Bolt-ish guitar. I did like the effect. With a guitar that looked like a strat, when I flipped the switch to one of the caps, the guitar sounded like a jazz box. I say "sounded" because although I still have the guitar, I hardly ever play these days. I did this mod probably 15 years ago.
