Hey Guys! I scored a sweet deal on a 2005 DC127 a few weeks ago. It's pretty flawless except one major chunk of wood was chipped off and glued back on.

I've never cared too much about finish flaws but this one is pretty bad (worse than the pics show) so I was going to take a stab a drop filling. Anyone have experience color matching Carvin Pearl Blue? I was thinking about finding a close enough nail polish. Wouldn't have to be perfect, just better than it's current condition.

I have heard of people going to auto paint shops - maybe one in your area could help you out.

Or maybe Home Depot, etc. could do a color-match stain? I had them color match a piece of vinyl siding for me once. I don't know the minimum you'd have to buy though - way more than you need I'm sure.

Ooof. Shocked

I had a few pretty bad scrapes on my blue 2013 Ford Edge. I got a couple of scratch repair paint vials. These were supposed to match but were a lot darker, somewhat like that pearl blue. But heres the kicker, that metallic element is really in the finish and not in the color coat. Its better, and much less noticeable from a distance, but far from perfect. I suspect its the same with the Pearl Blue.

My Carvin gear time capsule...

(Any photobucket links are probably now broken. Grrrrrr!!!)
