Hey Riv, Jointus...

Do you guys think we'll be okay as far as the PA equipment goes for the bash? If not my Gpa has some stuff and said he would be willing to bring some if it's needed.

What's he got for speakers, T??

Just that it'd save me some load since I'm bringing my trap set.

Though my Carvin 832's would look nice on their stands in the pics... Think Think

He's got two of the 1230 speakers that came with his 100watt PA head.

I'll be bringing the same PA that I brought at the first bash. If my Feedback Destroyer works right then we can use the PA speakers as monitors too.
Once again, I only have one microphone sooooo ifin we can get someone to bring a few more mics and stands we should be OK.
Speaking of OK, isn't SC going to bring all of her PA gear too?

You know... Rod, you just reminded me. I'll need most of my mics for the drums. I'll have one left for the drummer's vocals and one for other vocs.

Other people need to bring mics and stands if you have them.

My Gpa has some mics and stand he said he'd bring. If we think we're good on the speakers I can ask him to bring his mics and stands. That way he can still drive his car and not have to worry about driving his truck all the way from Kansas.

Jointus,

I wasn't at the first Texas bash, so what are your PA speakers? If I don't have to bring my FOH's it would save me some room.

P.A. speakers are two JBL 2x15 speakers.
Here's a pic of one of 'em with the double neck synth guitar in front.

And here's a pick of the mixer, power amp, and effect units on the left.

OK, you bring those and I'll bring my wedge monitors. We can daisy chain the 2 mixers if we need to. I'll have my snake so we can set the board up out front. I'll also have a small mixer for the drums.

Your PA amp - how much power? Mine is 400 Watts X 2 at 4 ohms a side. I think it's 250 X 2 at 8 ohms or something like that.

Mine is 400 watt per channel @ 4 ohms. Speakers are 4 ohm.
We will probably have to daisy chain the mixers if we mic the drums as I only have 4 xlr mic inputs on my mixer, although we could use xlr to 1/4" adapters on the other channels.

I have a 550X2 power amp I could bring if needed. Is anyone bringing a bass amp?

Allright, let's use your speakers and amp for the FOH and my wedgies and amp for the monitors. That'll be 800 watts on the FOH and about 500 on the monitors.

I'll use my 4 channel Crate head to mix the drums and go into 1 channel on the mixer (1//4 inch). Then if we daisy chain our mixers we'll have 11 XLR channels and 2 or 3 extra 1/4" on your board.

Should be plenty!! Mr. Green

The only thing that's undersized is my drums. Embarassed

I don't think we'll need your amp emux2, but thanks for offering. I'm not sure about a bass amp. Jointus may be planning to go through the system. I have a Carvin R600 head I could bring, but I couldn't bring the speakers for it. I'm going to be loaded as is.

I'm getting ready to make my Best Western, Decatur reservations. I am going to request that all of us Carvinites be grouped together.
Well....
We are currently unable to complete your request, please try again later.

Hmmm, I just remembered that there is a Best Western right in Bridgeport close to the jam place. Looks like the rates are slightly higher though.

+1 on which motel

Whoever needs a CD of the Classic Rock set songs, please PM me your address and I'll burn them this weekend. Most of the songs are pretty straight forward except maybe Whippin' Post and Martian Boogie and I'll try to have those charted and posted by Monday.

Lemme know.

+2 on the best western thing. The wife should be comming with me too. Peb, I wouldn't mind the classic rock cd. I'll my address although I don't feel prepared. I got a couple of weeks to brush up on some of it. I am trying to figure out which version of Martian boogie you guys have. Thier greatest hits has a different version than the one I used to have on 45. It has a longer slide solo in it. I still think I can be ready for the bass on that one.

Don't worry about being overly prepared. We just get together to meet, have fun, and try to play some music. Some songs work out good, others don't. The main thing is that we have fun. Cool
