Dead Series III R1000 Bass amp on ebay: $107
Shipping: $35
3" of wire to replace burned trace and one capacitor: $1.29

... realizing I just scored an awesome bass amp CHEAP: Priceless Dancing

From the damage, the amp appears to have taken a power surge. It wasn't too hard to fix. Sometimes you take a chance and it pays off. (I've had other "projects" turn out to be near total-losses) It took me a while to tweak the compressor and EQ the way I want it, but I got it so I like it. I've only tried it with my Bartolini-equipped Hamer so far. Up next - the Carvin B4.
