Kung fu movie legend David Carradine, who recently revamped his career in Quentin Tarantino's 'Kill Bill' movies, has died at the age of 73.
David Carradine, June 4: The kung fu cult hero with more than 200 movies and TV shows to his credit passed away in his Bangkok hotel room. The 'Kill Bill' actor was 73 years old.

It is being reported that it may have been autoeroticasphyxiation that killed him. I had no idea what that was so I looked it up. d'oh!

Quote:
asphyxiation (AEA) is the term used to describe the practice of cutting off the blood supply to the brain through self-applied suffocation methods while masturbating to orgasm. The interference of blood supply to the brain brought on by AEA can induce cerebral anoxia, a deficiency of oxygen in the brain. It is thought that the lack of blood flow and oxygen can intensify sensations, producing sensations of giddiness, lightheadedness, or exhilaration that can heighten the orgasmic experience. It's also possible that the helplessness and self-endangerment inherent in the techniques enhance the person's sexual gratification

Now if true I have to remember one of my favorite TV guys may have killed himself while masturbating, PERFECT. Probably not a good thing to meet your Maker when doing that. Shame on you

Sad to see him go, but if the allegations are true...what a way to tarnish your whole career and leave a lasting embarrassment for your wife and kids. I feel for them even more if it turns out to be true...

He should have just had a few drinks if he wanted to interfere with his brain. Sad

Damn, I always really liked him. That silly Kung Fu TV show was a blast to watch.

INXS Lead singer Michael Hutchence died in a purported AAE case, though questions remain even to this day. Apparently what I heard in his case was that he was awaiting his GF Paula Yates (and mother of his child) in Australia, but then her ex-husband (and father of her three older daughters) started making trouble about her leaving the UK, so she couldn't go. Hutchence apparently even called him to beg to let her come see him but he refused.

The ex-husband in question is actually Live Aid and Live 8 organizer (as well as star in pink floyd's the wall movie) Bob Geldof. From everything I've read, he really sounds like a jerk. He even fought for, and won, custody of Hutchence and Yates daughter Tiger lily after Paula OD'd on heroin (apparently depressed over hutchence death). Then he even changed Tiger Lily's last name to Geldof, over the protests of Hutchence family.

But anyway, some reports state that Carradine had his hands tied behind his back, which would mean that there had to be another person present in the room to do that. The hotel however maintains that according to security cameras he was alone. We'll have to wait and see what the official cause of death is ruled to be. I have heard that at the family's request the FBI is investigating.

His body is back in the U.S., undergoing another autopsy.

Exactly what I was thinking....
Plus, there are so many other things to either smoke, snort, etc.....
Maybe he did all of that though and it wasn't enough.
Or maybe he didn't touch the stuff and this was the only way.

Maybe those Kung Fu priests were teaching the wrong stuff to their little grasshopper??

I made that quote up, btw.

Well, I have been doing more reading, and Carradine was pretty much a super hippy back in the day, and once vandalized someone's home on drugs, stark naked. Two former lovers said he did have a penchant for rather unconventional sexual practices. As far as I am concerned, humans are weird, and don't understand why everyone is shocked when they find out about unconventional stuff that people do. I remember reading malcom X and there is a story about one guy who used to like baby power sprinkled over him while naked.

Anyway, he was a great guy, regardless of how he died. My own uncle died binge drinking, and I had the displeasure of being the one to find him, stark naked having fallen over on his bed. That's not how I remember him though.
