OK. I have had my AE 185 for about 6 months.
Rundown: Sperzels, Alan Holdsworth pickups, Full array electronics.
My pedal board: Electric side -> Blues Driver -> Bad Monkey -> Digitech Reverb -> Boss CS3. Acoustic side -> LR Baggs Para Acoustic DI. I run both into individual channels in board. My electric tone is very good for me. The acoustic side needs alot of help.

I was considering DR Zebras UNTIL I saw the reviews and YouTube reviews.
Now I am considering GHS White Bronze which has a steel core with Bronze windings. They have very good reviews, but the lightest they are made is a 11-48. Not sure how that will effect my intonation OR if the Sperzels will take an 11.

OR do I need a different acoustic processor?

Little help? Question

You're likely to get more of an acoustic sound boost by switching your acoustic processor to a Fishman Aura or possibly a Zoom A3 than from changing strings. I've never used the LR Baggs, but looking at it, it appears to be a DI with EQ but no acoustic modeling to speak of, so it's designed to assume it's got a real acoustic guitar as its input. So is the Aura, but it is also designed to model acoustic body types picked up with real microphones, to get away from the piezo sound.

Hello from Andy who sold you the AE-185. I was going to try a wound G string but stay with 10-46 strings. I found I needed to roll off treble on the acoustic PU. I ran it through my Red Eye preamp to the PA. The Sperzels will take 11s or higher.

Best of luck and Rock ON,
Andy

Thanks Andy! I just ordered a Fishman Aura sixteen. Will try that and perhaps change to a wound G.
