In my ongoing quest to make this the best Forum out there, I've implemented another new feature, and this is a biggie.

When you're posting a message, you'll see a link that says "Upload Pic" on the right. This link will open a window that will allow you to upload a picture directly to the forum. That's right, you can upload a picture directly to my server, without having to host through a 3rd party! So, people who don't have Photobucket accounts, or just aren't that computer savvy now have a *very* simple way to show off their gear.

A few caveats:

- Pictures are automatically sized down to no more than 550 X 600 pixels. That should be plenty big.

- I will delete old pictures periodically, so, don't use my server space for storage!

- If you have your own hosting, you can still use it if you like.

- Please don't hotlink images you post here to other Forums. I'll know it. I upgraded my hosting (again) to provide more storage and more bandwidth to accommodate this new feature, but still, I'm not made of money.

- Standard picture rules apply - keep 'em clean, and don't abuse it. In other words, don't post 20 pics of your cat in one thread. The primary function here is for people who don't have a hosting service to show off their gear.

- Consider this a beta. I'll be refining it over the next day or two. The thing was *extraordinarily* complex to implement, and my eyes are bleeding right now from staring at the square-headed girlfriend.

Here's a sample:

Any questions, let me know.

That's pretty cool of you, Kevio. For those of us that do not frequent many boards, this type of uploading hosting for members is unheard of out there. This site is definitly becoming a premier site and BBS and it is very much appreciated. Applause

I am actually very pleased with it, so far. Unfortunately, it's not something I can tinker with offline, so I'm kinda doing it on the fly.

With that in mind, note that the button (next to the Code, IMG, URL, etc buttons) doesn't work yet, but the "Upload Pic" text link does. When I get the actual button to work, the text link will go away.

I'm still noodling with it, but it looks like the button works now. Go ahead, upload a picture!

Show off, hehe............................

Hey, one question, string covering that extends below the nut, does that affect the string's brightness? Sometimes it's real close, but I took one set of Ken Smith strings off because of that on the E and D strings...........
And the B string on your 5'er looks close....................

Still testing...

Check out the watermark in the bottom corner - no one will be able to swipe pics! And I must say, that's *real* cool - I designed it so the watermark is added automagically.

Damn, I'm smrt. Mr. Green

Yes, it doesn't show on small pics. I did it that way on purpose...
