This was the old one:

The new one signifies that the Carvin Museum is now 4 years old. And I really need to take a minute to tell all of you how running this site has profoundly affected my life. I have made lifelong friends, I've seen the good that people are capable of, and my skills as a webdesigner have improved by leaps and bounds.

I really, truly owe all of you that have made this little site a success a huge debt of gratitude. You know, the shelf life of a site on the Internet is less than a year, and I can't imagine having done this for the past 4 years without the overwhelming support and contributions of everyone here. I never in my wildest dreams would've though that I would be able to present hundreds of pictures of different instruments, or that I would've been able to catalog every year of Carvin's history back to 1954. I absolutely could not have done it without the support of the gang here. Many of the catalog pages were donated, as were old ads, technical documents and other data. Additionally, the moderators and "old-timers" that keep the Forums a fun and cool place are invaluable. And, of course, the donations that have helped me offset the huge cost of running such a massive site have been invaluable.

Lastly, the support from everyone at Carvin as been amazing. I realize that this site significantly helps their business model, but the PTB didn't have to step up, but they understood what I wanted to accomplish, and have been a tremendous help.

Ever since I got into the web design game, I wanted to create something that was hugely popular, informative, well designed and functional. And I've done it - but I could have never done it without the help and support of so many people.

Really, words cannot express how much I appreciate everyone here. I am so pleased to consider each and every one of you my friends, and I hope as time goes by, we all remain friends and family.

Thank you so much. I couldn't have done it without you.

Great job, man!! This web site is the best I've been on. Your dedication is exceptional. This is the most information about a product that I've found on the internet. No, thank YOU!!

I remember when I started getting into the Internet realm how cool I thought it was to find that old Carvin-related website. Never would I have dreamed it would evolve into the website that is now the Museum. I'm proud to be a member of the forums, proud to have my gear displayed upon these hallowed pages, and am very lucky to be able to call these people my friends and family.

"Love" in cyberspace exists in many different forms, huh? Cool

Happy #4 to the Carvin Museum! Woot

+1 on what everyone else said, by the way...great job with the website, I know it's got to take up a big chunk of your time to keep things running smooth.

right on brother! happy berfday and congrats!

i remember back in the day when i found www.carvinbassmuseum.com and it was a redirector to a geocities site. geocities! that's a blast from the past. anyway, i wrote to you and you wrote back(!) and you're even cooler now than when i first "met" you. gosh i hope that was you Smile

BTW you definitely deserve ALL the credit. this phenomenon you have created is beyond anything i've ever seen for the power it wields - community, instruction, advice, caring and support, keeping our big musician egos in check, encouragement and most of all the KICK-ASS factor pegs the needles.

Yeah!

Kevio,
You've accomplished so much these past few years, even if you were considered an amateur by some of those no longer showing up on the sites. I frequent this site pretty much every day. I've made a lot of great online friends thru here. You've made it possible for everyone to connect with each other, share stories, helpful insights, and even a romance.

Keep up the great work. It is so very appreciated. Woot

WOW! 4 YEARS?!? Time does fly...I recall the old "Thunderkiss65" moniker, and the MUCH smaller carvinbassmuseum.com site.

Kevio, I'm a firm believer in the "you get out what you put in" philosophy, and never has it been more apparently true than in the case of this site / forum. It's obvious you've put a SHITLOAD of love, devotion, and work into it over the years, and that's a major reason for its success...You freakin ROCK dude! (Okay, the hair helps a little too Wink )

Happy FOURTH bro!!! Yeah!

Kevio, and everybody - give yourselves a BIG hand Applause This is an informative, insightful, insane, and invigorating place to visit. It's also the type of warm and delightful destination that invites you to kick off your shoes and stay awhile. Good folk, good spirits (and tolerance), and good deeds. It's a pleasure to have the met you all Cool

Thank you doesn't seem enough, Kev, but I am greatful (and impressed) with all the work you've done here. I am very proud to be a member of such a wonderful BBS. I proudly wear my Museum tshirts and eagerly tell anyone who makes a comment about them of the Museum site. Mr. Green
